This test tool is designed to evaluate collimator light field and x-ray field congruence, and to ensure accurate x-ray beam alignment. The collimator tool is constructed of brass – the centimeter etchings on its surface can provide a direct ruled dimension on the radiograph with a normal x-ray exposure. The beam alignment tool is a plastic cylinder that comes with two steel beads, one at each end. These steel beads are located directly above one another so that when level and in alignment, they will be superimposed on the radiograph. A bubble level is also included so that accurate tests can be performed quickly and with ease.
